Dev.to Integration

Publish articles directly to your Dev.to profile and reach the developer community.

Prerequisites

  • • A Dev.to account
  • • A DEV API key from your account settings

Getting Your API Key

  1. Log in to your Dev.to account
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Scroll down to DEV API Keys
  4. Click Create a new key
  5. Enter a description (e.g., "VisualRef") and click Generate
  6. Copy the generated API key

Configuration

In the VisualRef dashboard, enter:

  • • API Key: Your Dev.to API key

Articles will be published to your Dev.to account using your default author information.

What Gets Published

When content is published from VisualRef, the following will be sent to Dev.to:

  • • Article title
  • • Full markdown content (body)
  • • Tags (extracted from your content metadata)
  • • Published status

Need Help?

Make sure your Dev.to account is in good standing and you haven't exceeded your publishing limits. Published articles can be edited directly on Dev.to after creation.
